I'd like to urge the world at large to take a long lunch and sneak out to a yoga class.
Or to say vaguely that you'll be late to work and go for a walk picking wild flowers.
Or to walk into the next bar you see, regardless of the time of day, and have a beer with a stranger.
Or to book a flight to the furthest place you can afford and figure out the details later.
Or to fucking smile at a stranger or fucking let someone cut in front of you or just start hugging people more.
Because you just never know when you're going to be hit by a bus.
Like my friend Lindsey.
She's in a coma right now.
She was never one to shy away from an adventure or a conversation with a stranger.
Now she's getting brain surgery and, while she'll survive, there's a "quality of life" issue.
Isn't there always a quality of life issue?
Best to take advantage of all the qualities of life while you can.
Before you get hit.
By a fucking bus.
