"I could help. I don't have anything better to do."
My bar boss laughs. "That is the most untrue thing you've ever said."
"Ok, I don't have anything scheduled for those 3.25 hours."
"That's more appropriate."
But when I say that, "I don't have anything better to do," what I mean is: I'm usually okay with, and prefer, being alone for extended periods of time, but now, it's more like something's missing.
