clubbing tonight at cheesy 80s club with joanna and michelle (future roommates, friends since 6th grade) was incredibly amounts of fun.

minus the gross guys who continually danced with us.

note to gross guys: coming up from behind is a surefire sign that you are gross.

whenever only gross guys dance with me, i have to think: i am gross too and they think i am desperate enough to think they're not gross. but i have no self-confidence.

am much looking forward to moving in with these girls. we went from "nah, we won't smoke in the house" to discussing plans for hotboxing my tiny-ass room with a view.

it totally didn't occur to me until both joanna and michelle pointed it out that we're the sea camp girls. the summer between seventh and eighth grade, we went to a sea camp in catalina together. we were That Close. michelle and i haven't really kept in touch, but it's just weird that 6 years later we're living together. weird in a really good way. anyone remember that song, "make good friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold"? stupid kids song. i want new friends. not to replace the old ones.

i saw one potential bang boy at the cheesy 80s club (which played mostly hip-hop, strangely) but methinks he came with a girl. i did not persue. point of this paragraph? none. i'm wired and m and j crashed as soon as we walked in the door.

here's the kind of friend i want:

*insomniac

*adores just sitting in diners for extended periods of time

*won't miss a punk rock show for anything

*has lots of other friends with similar traits

*chainsmoker

*likes coffee (neither j nor m does...i thought it was a requirement to live in this city)

*up for anything

straightedge kids need not apply.
