spread the love (repeat)

rooney has definite potential.

i ran over a possum tonight. a possum or an opposum? on my way back from fucking chico. fucking as in adjective, chico as in town. as opposed to fucking as in verb, chico as in boy. althought that would have been exciting. it was as lame as expected. what could one expect from a club feature "top 40 hits"? we (esp, joanna, jaclyn) showed up around 11:30p and the dj was hookin up some cheesy 90s techno (eurythmics, anyone?) followed by annoying hiphop and ending with some shitty house. needless to say, i was craving me some bang boys. esp and joanna decided it was so lame it was cool, but they left early. i decided to steal a line from ghostworld and claim it "so lame it's gone straight past cool and right back to lame again."

i'm tired. i'm going to go read. sf tomorrow, redding sunday, eugene monday (except i think tiffany disappeared, so maybe not), seattle tuesday. huzzah.

and now, a lyrical interlude:

//my best friends are so mean. i look up to the sky when i am sad ...//

except they aren't my best friends anymore so i guess it doesn't matter.

(i'm speaking of santa barbara folks, so redding folks shouldn't freak out)

i know of a thousand ways to say no to a boy. "i have a boyfriend. he'd be here, but he's in the hospital." "i have a girlfriend. she could kick your ass." start signing in asl. roll your eyes and abruptly turn away. give him a look of disbelief, punch in him the stomach, and turn back to your friends. &c.

it's the saying yes that's the hard part.

haha.

actually, it's not getting the opportunity to say yes or no that's hardest.

ah-ha.

esp got me a button that reads, "don't assume i'm not interested in cheap, meaningless sex." i should make a tshirt, because the button neglected to garner much attention.

listening to phantom planet on the way back, joanna said that they were like weezer, but better. while i thoroughly beg to differ, i'm happy she recognizes sheer brilliance when she hears it.

well...not really. but, once again: i'm smitten. wouldn't smitten be a great name for a band? something like, "lord byron and the smitten kittens."

or maybe it's just 4:16a. ya think?

About me
Hi. Morgan, 27, of Santa Barbara, CA. I am a hypocritical admirer of rhetoric (when it is my own) and an observer of literary trends. A secret: I don't take anything very seriously, and that includes myself.
