Commute to hotel: Terrified to travel on public transportation based on seatmate's warning to be careful in the neighborhood, "because [she'd] heard some stories," but effortless and safe arrival proves public opinion wrong once again.
8pm walk around Foggy Bottom et al: DC residents have questionable taste when it comes to going-out footwear. I was more satisfied to walk in the rain for two hours than to get dinner or a drink anywhere (which is more a testament to the lack of appealing bars and bar patrons than anything).
10pm Eastbound and Down marathon: BRILLIANT.
