Hi, Sunday

During the work-mandated scotch tasting, Dawn and I made plans to go for a walk/run/hike thing at 5am to see the sunrise. I see the sun rise all the time, but usually my day is just ending, not beginning. It's a different sort of experience.

Of course, we didn't quite make it until the sun was beyond risen, but we did end up going for a walk/run/hike thing. I ran the five blocks to her Westside house and we decided to go up through Valerio, which just turns into Elings Park, which will take you to Hendry's Beach, eventually, where, if the tide is low, you can walk, or jog, as we did, along the beach until you get to some stairs, and that's Mesa Lane, which will take you to Flora Vista, which will lead you back to Valerio, which will take you home.

The thing about Santa Barbara is, you'll be walking along some perfect little residential neighborhood, streets lined with unassuming million dollar homes, and then you'll be surrounded by nature, no matter which way you go. You'll always end up in the middle of a hiking trail or a beach, just when you least expect it. I don't even like nature, and even I find that rather charming, how it's just thrust upon you whether you're ready for it or not. That's how it should be, anyway.

About me
Hi. Morgan, 27, of Santa Barbara, CA. I am a hypocritical admirer of rhetoric (when it is my own) and an observer of literary trends. A secret: I don't take anything very seriously, and that includes myself.
