and then

I asked my mom how long it took her to lose her baby weight. I was just curious.

"I didn't have any baby weight."

What? How is that possible?

"When I went in for my 6-week post-partum check-up, I had actually lost weight from before I was pregnant."

Uhh...

"I was so busy I didn't have time to have cravings so when I did eat all the food went to the baby."

Then I asked her about the c-section issue, because Katie had expressed disgust with the idea.

"I was in labor for 28 hours with Matt and the baby's life was in danger at that point. I was too small."

She's very petite. She's been a size 4 for most of her life and recently downsized to a size 2 thanks to her step classes.

She schedule my c-section before my due date because I was already fully developed. I told her about the potential spirituality of homebirth, already knowing the answer verbatim as to why midwifery would never appeal to her.

"It was a business transaction."

Folks, this is where I come from.

About me
Hi. Morgan, 27, of Santa Barbara, CA. I am a hypocritical admirer of rhetoric (when it is my own) and an observer of literary trends. A secret: I don't take anything very seriously, and that includes myself.
